The Topeka-Capitol Journal posted a video September 2 on YouTube showing the Shawnee County Allied Tribes Inc.’s 19th annual Native American Education Day held prior to the 21st annual Traditional Inter-Tribal Powwow.

Event coordinator Bobbie Anderson said Native American students see the event as a way to confirm their identity while non-Native participants learn about Native American culture.

There were drum circles, games, crafts and singing. The third-grade articipants were taught the Cherokee version of "Bingo."
