Help keep the Columbia River basin and surrounding waters clear of the invasive northern pike. The Kalispel Tribe, steelhead and salmon will thank you.

PikePalooza: Help the Kalispel Repel Invasive Northern Pike

Jack McNeel
June 25, 2012

Fishermen can do their part in helping reduce pike populations in Boundary and Box Canyon Reservoirs in Washington State, and perhaps win cash and prizes at the same time. Fishing derbies will take place on two weekends: June 29 through July 1 and August 3–5. Tribal biologists will release pike with tags attached. Those tags will reward the anglers who catch those fish with cash or prizes. Information on rules, regulations and registration is at the website of the Kalispel Tribe. Read more about the invasive and voracious northern pike here.
