50th Annual Lac La Biche Pow Wow, Alberta
When & Where: August 3rd – 5th at the Lac La Biche Region in Lac La Biche, Alberta.
Now in its 50th year, the Lac La Biche know how to through an excellent powwow. Weekend festivities begin on Friday with a grand parade through the streets of Lac La Biche, complete with live music, floats, and free candy! Saturday will hold the Fish Derby on Beaver Lake where contestants will compete for over $15,000 in prizes. Special performance by Charlie Major. For more information about this event, click here.

Kamloopa Pow Wow, British Columbia
When & Where: August 3rd – 5th at the Kamloopa Powwow Society in Kamloops, British Columbia.
According to their website this powwow is one of the largest celebrations of First Nations’ culture and heritage on the Canadian West coast and is “a spectacular expression of the Secwepemc people's heritage and is a vibrant display of storytelling, song, and dance in traditional regalia.” Admission is $10; weekend passes are available. 28th Annual Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Powwow, Michigan
When & Where: August 3rd – 5th at the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Campground in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
This weekend event will be filled with dance competitions and specials. Competitions will include Drum Disco, Luck of the Draw Two Step, Frybread, and more! Your Masters of Ceremonies will be Marrin Denning and Chris “Pleasant Pheasant.” Grand entry will be at 7PM on Friday and 1PM on Saturday and Sunday. Bear Mountain Pow Wow, New York
When & Where: August 4th – 5th at the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area in Harriman State Park in Stony Point, New York.
This weekend event will begin each day at 11AM and Grand Entry will be at 1PM and 4PM. The host, Redhawk Native American Arts Council, will offer a bus shuttle from two locations in Manhattan to the Harriman State Park each day at $28.67 per ticket, which includes admission to the powwow.
