At the Indian Summer Music Awards, Wayne Lavallee won Best Rock Song for "Big Country." Vancouver-born Cree/Metis musician Lavallee -- as described at waynelavallee.com -- "roams from blues to rock to Native chanting with a sense of artistic freedom that transcends easy classification." That may be, but there's no doubting that the award-winning "Big Country" rocks -- hard. Here's a performance from Arbor Live!, a show on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network.
