The famous mushers and their dogs featured in the Iditarod race are known the world over, but it's just a reflection of the relationship that has existed between man and beast for thousands of years. Dog and human are equal partners in this relationship; indeed, some experts say that early Arctic survival may not have been possible without this alliance.
