Tester Reveals New Report of Social Security Cuts Affect on Veterans

On May 26, Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) shared a new report detailing how America’s veterans and families would suffer significantly if Social Security benefits were cut.
He shared how these families rely heavily on there benefits during a news conference in the Senate Veterans’ Affairs hearing room.
The report finds:
· More than one-third of Social Security recipients are veterans or veterans’ family members
· Virtually all veterans will rely on Social Security at some point in their lives
· Social Security currently pays benefits to more than 9 million veterans nationwide, an estimated 40,000 of whom live in Montana
