Three Wisconsin Tribes Killed Discussion for Joint Off-Reservation Casino
“There has not been any recent communication between Ho-Chunk and Chippewa tribes,” Joe Hunt, the spokesman for the St. Croix and Bad River casino project, told the newspaper.
The St. Croix Band and the Bad River Band, which optioned 40 acres in Beloit, will likely continue pursuing their joint casino. But the Ho-Chunk Nation is still interested in a casino on its 26 acres optioned next to the St. Croix/Bad River site, a spokesperson told the Beloit Daily News.
The verdict may fall on the city council. On August 15, Beloit’s City Council held a meeting to discuss contract negotiation for a possible gaming facility.
