Turning Stone Partners With Las Vegas Culinary Legend for New Steakhouse
Elizabeth Blau—a restaurant consultant credited with transforming Las Vegas into a culinary mecca—is bringing her skills to Turning Stone Resort Casino's new "TS Steakhouse."
The restaurant will replace the upscale, private dining room Club 2.1 on the 21st floor of the Turning Stone Tower Hotel, as well as Turning Stone’s current steakhouse, Forest Grill. The venue atop the tallest building between Albany and Syracuse offers breathtaking panoramic views of the countryside including Oneida Lake.
TS Steakhouse will serve the "finest cuts of meat and exquisite seafood," an Oneida Indian Nation press release states.
“We recently completed a comprehensive market study to learn what our community wants most, and guests overwhelmingly told us that they want new and exciting dining experiences right here in Central New York," said Oneida Nation Enterprises CEO Ray Halbritter.
When considering the best culinary options, Halbritter immediately thought to visit Las Vegas to seek the expertise of Blau, who founded Blau + Associates in 2003.
Blau got her start helping famed restaurateur Sirio Maccioni expand the Le Cirque brand to Las Vegas. She quickly caught the attention of Stephen Wynn, who recruited her to revolutionize the food and beverage operations at the Bellagio, and later at Wynn Las Vegas. With Wynn management, Blau conceptualized, developed and marketed 22 unique dining, bar, lounge and nightclub operations. She additionally served as a judge on Food Network’s Iron Chef America from 2007-2009, and was featured on the Travel Channel and the Martha Stewart Show.
“When I met with Ray Halbritter, I saw everything that he has accomplished so far with Turning Stone and heard his vision for what else he wants to deliver to the Resort’s guests," Blau said. "I went to Cornell University, so I was especially enthusiastic to be a part of his team that’s bringing Las Vegas standards and experiences to Central New York."
The restaurant is scheduled to open this fall, and Halbritter hopes to collaborate with Blau on more projects to turn Central New York into a culinary destination.
"TS Steakhouse is the first of several projects with Elizabeth to take our dining experiences to a higher, more exciting level," Halbritter said.
