U. of Louisville Basketball Star Shoni Schimmel Returns From Two Game Suspension
Shoni Schimmel's sophomore season got off to a rough start as the superstar point guard has had to sit in her first two games for violating a NCAA rule by playing in a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in her home state of Oregon this summer. The All-Big East Conference player played in the tournament on the Umatilla reservation where she was raised, home to the Umatilla, Cayuse and Walla Wall tribes which make up the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Her University of Louisville Cardinals team came into the season ranked number nine in the country in large part to Shoni's skills. They managed to win their first game without her, beating Missouri State 73-64, but in the second game against number six ranked Texas A&M Aggies, the Shoni-less Cardinals got whooped, 76-58. Shoni's due back today in a road game against Eastern Kentucky, and then will be making her home debut against Xavier at the KFC Center.

Ms. Shimmel, you must wonder
Ms. Shimmel, you must wonder where your support system was back then when you were suspended. Now, you're one game away from the national championship game and everyone wants to be a part of your success. W here were they when you needed their support. I guess everybody loves a winner. I have been following through thick and thin . Keep up the hard work.
Proud of you Shoni and Jude!
