Looking to fill you're weekend with a little powwow action?

We've put together a great list of a few powwows happening all over the nation this weekend just for you!

If one of these events is in your area, we highly recommend heading over to enjoy some lively dancing and drumming, thrilling musical performances, and delicious, authentic foods!

9th Annual Red Paint Powwow and Indian Market, New Mexico
When & Where: January 18 – 20 at the Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico.
Kicking off at 9AM Friday, the Red Paint Powwow and Indian Market will begin its festivities with an “Educational Day.” Each day the Indian Market will open at 9AM with around 70 vendors who will be selling authentic Native American products including jewelry, blankets, and much more. Starting at 11AM competitive dancing will be held on Saturday and Sunday. Awards will be given at 6PM during the closing ceremony on Sunday. For more information about this event, click here.

Native Youth Alliance Presidential Inauguration Powwow, Virginia
When & Where: January 18 – 21 at the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia.
This years powwow will honor the 7th generation, Presidential office, youth, and elders. Festivities throughout the weekend will include a memorial walk/run, a women’s circle, as well as a tour of Washington D.C. Monday night there will be a youth ball held at the Sheraton Pentagon City. WACIPI 14th Annual Traditional Powwow, Oregon
When & Where: January 19 at the Sylvania Campus in Portland, Oregon.
Celebrating their 14th year, Portland Community College’s Traditional Winter Powwow donates all proceeds to support the Native American Student Scholarship. Their website says, “Your participation and support of Pow Wow will ensure that the tradition of increasing access and retention of Native American Students continues.” Festivities begin at 12PM on Saturday. Texas Indian Hobbyist Association Winter Powwow, Texas
When & Where: January 19 at the Meridian Civic Center in Meridian, Texas.
Festivities begin at 2PM on Saturday. Powwow attendees will enjoy a covered dish supper at 5PM, gourd dancing at 6:30PM, and a parade at 7:30PM. Your head dancers are Jackie Wilkes and Traci Wilkes. For more information about this event, click here.
