It’s always amusing to witness how ‘purveyors of thought’ can be critical to reviews of how people of color are treated in the US even if it means questioning the classification system of people (skin color) by those pesky Europeans or the White Colonists. If not for the European classification system, humans by their nature would devise their own culturally method of classification based cultural attitudes, norms, traditions, etc. Most (if not all) of these Global cultural approaches are by Western standards, not acceptable in the US, i.e. politically insensitive, racists, prejudiced, discriminatory, etc. So we’re back again to identifying people. If not for the White Colonists in America, Indian peoples would squabble in chaos and population disorder and establish classification systems of race by locations, tradition, and probably skin color. Can you imagine fighting for basic elements such as scrapes and bits of the food we throw away? Be thankful your not living in the Middle East or in Asia where based on skin color and your nationality (origins), you could be at the bottom OR TOP of the “race/gene” pool not because of opportunities (as with the United States), but because of race, origins, cultural norms and practices.
