Thank you everyone for your thoughtful responses. By no means does anthropology or other social sciences up-hold these outmoded racist values. However, cultural and social construtions and many pulic perceptions have been modeled after these pseudo-scientists. The principle of purity verses impurity will contine to pervade our societies until we deconstruct the meaning of race. Race is an illussion, yet a powerful legacy of our country's collective past. Yes, I do teach as an adjunct professor and give lectures at colleges when time permits. I have writen several books, served as associate producer to the Emmy award winning film "Mystic Voices: The Story of the Pequot War," and in 2009, received Special Congessional Recognition in the preservation of Native history and culture.
