Something needs done quickly about this problem. I've taught Navajo students who were far off the reservation and have met so many Navajo that had to travel far to find jobs, living together in small inadequate housing to do so with many family members sleeping side by side on the floor at night. The Navajo must allow intermarriage and should look into genetic testing. Even third cousins outside of native tribes are allowed to marry in many states. Let's not lose the Navajo tribe. This would indeed be a tragedy, a loss of such wonderful, loving, caring, loyal people.
