So much of life after the fact of Indian annihilation is celebrating it through ceremony. It reminds me of an Indian nation that protested the BIA asking them to rename a road after Kit Carson. Why not just ask them to celebrate George Custer day too. America seems not have a social conscious or a firm grasp of history. Too many of us were just given a Bible, told to forgive, forget and move on. It's rather ironic that you can tout yourself as the land of the free, home of the brave, when the whole country was founded by such brutal and undemocratic dealings. I am amazed by just the recent 236 year history of what has become these United States. Let's do it again next month with Thanksgiving.
