Yup - and the Jewish people haven't disappeared either. The reason Israel was made into a nation in 1948 is becuause the Jews had been so horrendously ostracized in the world for centuries they needed somewhere to live in peace. Unfortuantley it was from the frying pan into the fire. Who would have dreamed the Arab world - who is supposedly descended from the same father - would so outrightly reject the presence of Jews from the first moment they arrived? Who would have dreamed to this day the vehemence against Israel/Zionists/Jews - call it what you will - is still horrendous in Muslim populations around Israel and this hatred is taught to children. This is not to condone everything the Israeli government has done for all these years. Absolutely not. But why is all this other hatred just left out of the discussion? Over and over again that we are just looking at one small slice of the facts. We will never make peace in this world if we do this. And we will never make peace with anyone unless we reconcile our realtionship with our Mother Earth. The Palestinian people remain. The Israelis remain. The settlers remain and so do the Indigenous people. We are all in this together - all 7 billion of us. So let's stop pointing fingers please. Let's learn about each other's history and rebuild.
