I am rather disgusted by this article. I hate the title. '...reproductive justice...'. I don't really have a problem with Plan B for Rape. But, we start giving it out at our IHS/Tribal Health Centers and will it ONLY go for cases of rape? If you answer yes, you are either exceptionally Naive or worse. This ring to the jokes I recall hearing when I was growing up: 'I brought you into this world, .... I can take you out of this world!' 'Womens Justice'? Where is the Justice for the unborn? Once again, I ask the age old question, what has one of the core statements that I hear from a great many tribes that we are suppose to think of seven generations, ....our children are our future, children are our #1 asset, etc, etc.....until the little brats get in the way of what I, me, myself wants/needs! I am ENTITLED after all! That child...they are only entitled to WHAT I say they can have? So, who is the Brat now Chloe? Where are the rights of the child? Are all those great native statements just great tag lines, when they aren't superseded by MY wants and needs?
I don't like the Plan B in the first place, but there is a lot in life I do not like, but the attitude that the tax payers need to flip the bill for 'every woman 17 years of age or older' is to the point of lunacy...in my humble opinion! Then, your 'real life' talking points? A woman raped, broke, 50 miles from the nearest town... Why don't you get real? I am 53 years old, I was a cop for most of those and threw a ton of bums in jail for everything including rape. I have yet to even hear about one that didn't have a mother, brother, girlfriend, or even the cop that would have ran them into town to the pharmacy! Somewhere around 3 out of 4 don't even get reported to the cops, so lets take the cop out of the equation.....the ONLY thing that can help is the IHS/Tribal Health center giving out free, ENTITLED Plan B? Who needs a touch of reality now?
