This is also the case with non native drug and alcohol counselors. It seems they like to keep our people in victim mode. It is time for our people to stand up and say we are still here despite the effort to wipe out our lives and customs by the boarding school or kill through military action. We need to celebrate being survivors of the experiments conducted and genocide that was attempted. I see a lot of lamenting about the intergenerational trauma. Yes, it is hard to let go of. The time is now to stand up and say we survived and we will not let ourselves be victimized again.
