Forgive me if I seem naive or uninformed but I have a couple of questions. First let me start off by telling a little bit about myself. I am technically half Seneca as my father was full blooded. The other half of me is Welsh on my moms side. My father passed away when I was 2 and my grandmother passed away while I was young also. So I was raised as if I was full blooded Welsh-American, I have never learned much of my fathers ancestry or life, so I don't really Identify with it. I am sure thats partly why I don't understand the harm in native mascots. Redskins I can agree is offensive but "Fighting Sioux" i compare more to "Fighting Irish" or the "Fighting Ocra" the fighting part is more the spirit of competitiveness and then the mascots themselves are not exclusively native "Yankees, Patriots, Irish, Celtics, Trojans, Spartans, Texans, Hofstra university used to be the flying dutchmen. All of which are used in respect to those groups of people. Can you please explain the difference to me in native mascots and non native human mascots.
