I don't think there will ever be justification for any Tribe or Nations regarding any lands past, present or future! There will never be any compensations enough to satisfy our people! The land is still being destroyed all over because of mans greed for more!

Once we have been "Cobelled" (paid off), who will get the royalty benefits on the chunk of land that once was paid to the beneficiaries? There is more than one reservation in Indian Country that receives royalty benefits, so it is possible the combined royalty benefits earned surpasses the $3.4 billion awarded in this one time payout.
Had Elouise Cobell not been successful with her lawsuit against the government the American Indian community may not have recognized the money it received. It's a start and perhaps in the future the proceeds will approximate what American Indian Nations are due.
