Native American Heritage Night was a big success at the San Francisco Giants AT&T Park (despite the Giants actually losing the game, 5-0). This rematch of the 2010 World Series was made an even bigger event because the Giants honored American Indians with a special Native American Heritage Night event.

In addition to seating in a dedicated Native American Heritage Night section and receiving a special-edition Native-themed Giants pennant, fans enjoyed a wealth of pre-game cultural entertainment.  A tipi was set up near one of the stadium entrances, where a hand drum performer showcased Native music, and Bay Area Native organizations were on hand to distribute information and answer questions.

Inside AT&T Park, 50 youth dancers lined the first and third baselines while All Nations Drum sung in a mini concert. Expert hoop dancers Ginger Sykes, Navajo, and Eddie Madril, Pascua Yaqui, followed with a demonstration.

There was also an in-game performance between the 5th and 6th innings by five members of the Northern California Pomo tribe.

As the photos attest, it was a special night in the Bay Area.
