Fires have been raging in the western United States for weeks now and show no signs of abating. Last week we asked readers to send in photos of the fires, which have consumed hundreds of square miles in Montana, Colorado and New Mexico and claimed hundreds of homes and other buildings. Here are some photos of the Ash Creek Fire, which has been burning on and around the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Tribal authorities have forbidden the use of fireworks until further notice. Information, more photos and regular fire updates are available on the Facebook page of Northern Cheyenne Tribal Health.
