Photo: The Amazing Pottery of Al Qoyawayma
This week’s featured image comes to us from Hopi artist Al Qoyawayma, a co-founder of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. It shows his bronze representative sculpture called “Corn Mother.”
Qoyawayma is quite the Renaissance man. He’s a ceramic artist, potter, and bronze sculptor. He’s a Fulbright scholar, featured artist at the Smithsonian’s permanent Archives of American Art, as well as a physicist, astronomer, anthropologist, engineer, and educator.
