Few places on earth are as epic as the Yosemite Valley. Huge waterfalls, monolithic granite summits, and 10,000 years of Native American history make this one of the grandest national parks in the world. Called Ahwahnee, 'the place of the gaping mouth', by the Miwok Tribe, Yosemite is a glacial valley located in California's western Sierra Nevada mountains.
In this gallery, you'll see the three legendary granite summits of Half Dome, El Capitan, and Cloud's Rest, the 2,425 foot high Yosemite falls, and the bust of Captain John, leader of the Yosemite-Mono Lake Paiutes.
