Photographer Sue Reynolds Brings 'Understanding' to the Flathead Reservation
On June 28, the People’s Center Museum & Gift Shop on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Pablo, Montana, welcomed 26 images by photographer Sue Reynolds. The exhibit is titled Understanding Native American People and showcases work from her years of documenting pow wows. She became interested in—perhaps obsessed with—the events after attending her first, the 2005 Arlee Pow Wow. Since then she has attended numerous celebrations, mainly in Montana. “To be honest, I lost count when I got to 50,” she told the Missoulian. “I don’t know if it’s 60 or 70—it may be 75.” The museum will feature her colorful and dynamic images through the end of September.
