Photographer Terry Richardson Shoots on Navajo Nation
Photographer Terry Richardson is known for shooting some of the hippest (and sexiest) celebrities in show business, and his Tumblr photo blog terrysdiary.com (warning: occasional nudity) is extremely popular.
He he has posted some pictures he took on a recent trip through the Navajo Nation—in typical Richardson style, they demonstrate a fascination with damage and decay, as well as graffiti and religious iconography. Many shots are of the instantly-recognizable abandoned Standard Oil station near Cow Springs on Highway 160 (a favorite location of wheatpaste artist Jetsonorama).
Richardson typically provides minimal information in his captions, simply grabbing any text in the frame—we've included them, with additional details when possible.
