In our ongoing coverage of the remarkable young Lakota Marathon runners from Pine Ridge, today we present a special photo gallery featuring the work of Cliff Matias. The runners, who were racing in the Marathon to raise funds to help build a much-needed youth center on Pine Ridge, were disappointed when the city canceled the event because of Hurricane Sandy. But they were not defeated. The Lakota Five, as the Native runners are known, volunteered to help the devastated city of New York. You can read the full story here.
