Coming back around
The United States is currently struggling with illegal immigration. Is history repeating itself? When the British government set out to settle the New World in America, they tried to control the settlers to no avail.
Despite repeated treaties with the Indian tribes which set boundaries over which settlers would not cross, the treaties were broken repeatedly. The British government could not control the settlers.
What goes around comes around. Now the U.S. government is unwilling or unable to protect the borders and illegal immigrants are pouring in, going all over the United States and the government can;t control them!
What happened to the American Indians could happen to parts of the United States. The Natives lost tribal lands, Native ways and language. Isn't this what is happening to the English language in the United States today?
What goes around comes around.
