Osage Nation to decide leaders

During the tribe's June elections, no candidate for either position obtained a majority, so Monday's election will decide the winners. Current Principal Chief Jim Gray did not qualify for the runoff, and current Assistant Chief John D. Red Eagle is running for the job of principal chief. The tribe's biggest challenge involves a recent federal court ruling stating that the Osage Reservation was dis-established a century ago.
