National Indian Gaming Commission Names Training Manager
A new training manager for the National Indian Gaming Commission will lead the agency's Training and Technical Assistance Programs and spearhead developing and implementing training strategies and training events for tribes and tribal regulators in the Indian gaming industry.
Randall “Randy” Conrad, a veteran in education and training, was a natural pick for the Commission. He comes from the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he served as the Education and Training Specialist for the Office of Compliance and Business Integrity. In that role, Conrad oversaw the design and content of new training programs, as well as advised the department as the subject matter expert on pre-existing training couress.
“Randy brings an extensive combination of education and training experience that spans more than 20 years,” said Chairwoman Tracie Stevens. “He has first-hand knowledge of what it takes to implement a successful training program. We are pleased Randy has joined our team.”
Conrad holds a masters of business administration (MBA) and a bachelors of science in Management, graduating both cum laude, from the University of Phoenix. Conrad also has an associates degree in Criminal Justice, Allied Health Sciences and Instructor of Technology and Military Science from the Community College of the Air Force.
The National Indian Gaming Commission is committed to the prompt and efficient regulation of the Indian gaming industry spanning more than 420 gaming establishments, associated with nearly 240 tribes across 28 states. The Commission’s dedication to compliance with the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act ensures the integrity of the $27 billion Indian gaming industry.
“Training and technical assistance is vital to the NIGC mission,” said Conrad. “I’m looking forward to enhancing delivery methods and designing course offerings to better meet the needs of the Agency, tribes and tribal regulators.”
