How are you celebrating your Memorial Day weekend? Hopefully with a pow wow!

We've put together a great list of a few pow wows happening all over the nation this weekend just for you!

If one of these events is located in your area, we highly recommend heading over to enjoy some lively dancing and drumming, thrilling musical performances, and delicious, authentic foods!

Southern Ute Bear Dance Pow Wow
When & Where: May 24 – 25 at the Sky Ute Fairgrounds in Ignacio, Colorado.
Festivities kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday. According to their site, the origin of the Bear Dance has a long history, tracing back to the “fifteenth century when the Spanish first came upon the Ute's in the spring time. When the first thunder in the spring was heard, it was time for the Bear Dance.” For more information about this event, click here.

32nd UCR Pow Wow
When & Where: May 24 – 25 at the UCR Sports Complex in Riverside, California.
Starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, pow wow goers will spend the weekend in Riverside, CA celebrating Native American culture and traditions. Grand entry is at 7 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. For more information about this event, click here.

Pow Wow on the Hudson
When & Where: May 25 – 27 at the University Settlement Camp in Beacon, New York.
This event is hosted by the Nimham Mountain Singers, who has been together since1999. The group focuses “goal of fostering, preserving and rediscovering traditional Native American beliefs, values and spirituality.” For more information about this event, click here.

Memorial Day Pow Wow
When & Where: May 27 at the Mille Lacs Indian Museum in Onamia, Minesota.
Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post invite everyone to join museum staff and community members at their annual Memorial Day pow wow. “Bring the family to participate in a social gathering honoring American Indian veterans past and present and experience firsthand the excitement of a contemporary pow wow.” Admission is free.
