Enough: An Open Letter to NFL Redskins Owner Dan Snyder From Grantland

June 13, 2013

The popular sports and pop culture website Grantland.com has a must-read poke at Dan Snyder and the Washington Pigskins regarding their offensive team name today. In an open letter to Snyder, writer and The Nation sports editor Dave Zirin (Game Over: How Politics Has Turned the Sports World Upside Down), a fan of the D.C. NFL team, pulls no punches.

Zirin's letter begins:

Dear Dan Snyder,

History tends to be unkind to those who make bold proclamations against change. You have made it crystal clear that you believe there is nothing wrong with the name of our region's beloved franchise and probably perceive Webster's dictionary to have some politically correct, liberal agenda when it defines redskin as "usually offensive."
