Video: Murdered Native Student’s Parents Plea for Help

Just two days before the two-year anniversary of their daughter’s murder, Roland and Connie Hedgepeth make a plea to the public in a video created by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Faith Hedgepeth, 19, was a student at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She was found dead in her off-campus apartment on September 7, 2012.

“I know it won’t bring her back, but whoever did this—whether it was one person or multiple people—are very likely to do it again,” Roland says in the video. “ I don’t want Faith’s death to be in vain.”

New information regarding the case was also recently released by the Chapel Hill Police Department. They hope that the public will rethink that night and the day before the murder and someone comes forward with information that will help the case.

“I don’t know all that happened to her that night, I don’t know anything,” Connie says in the video. “To have those images in your head year after year… it’s not going to change anything if we know who did it, my biggest question is why.”
