Native American Comics Creator Showcase: Jason Garcia's 'Tewa Tales'

Jason Garcia, Santa Clara Pueblo, doesn't draw comic books. His chosen medium is clay tiles, created in the traditional Pueblo manner. But his fondness for pop culture, particularly the comic-book creations of Jack Kirby and the Hernandez Brothers, is evident in his work—his clay tiles painted as silver-age covers of the fictional comic Tewa Tales of Suspense have landed him in the Heard Museum's exhibit on Native American comic creators (and on ICTMN.com, and not for the first time).
