Ganondagan State Historic Site Manager G. Peter Jemison (Heron Clan/Seneca) calls the opening of the Seneca Art & Culture Center at Ganondagan a “dream come true.” It’s something he’s been working toward personally for 30 years. The doors to the center opened on October 24, and the day included basketmaking demonstrations, Iroquois social dancing, storytelling, and the showing of the Iroquois creation story.
It was a fun day of learning and exploring the Seneca culture, history, and lifestyle.
