FireKeepers Debuts Expanded Cafe, Breaks Ground on Fuel Station
A new fuel station, car wash and convenience store will make travel easier for FireKeepers Casino Hotel customers, and they can earn loyalty points to boot. On Monday the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi broke ground on its FirekKeepers Pit Stop located adjacent to casino property.
Meanwhile, the casino reopened its Cafe 24/7, an eatery that underwent a massive renovation process starting in January. The new layout, contemporary lighting, graphics and chalkboard wall for writing daily specials are the work of Kalamazoo-based architects Seven Generations Architecture and Engineering, and Holt construction company Moore Trosper Construction. The refreshed atmosphere combines an old-school diner feel with new modern features. The Cafe 24/7 menu will feature new, fresh items, as well as some of the classic favorites like the All American Burger, Hot Turkey Sandwich and Chicken Pot Pie.
FireKeepers Pit Stop is slated for completion mid-summer, creating roughly 12 full-time jobs to staff it, FireKeepers President and CEO Brian Decorah said Monday, reported the Battle Creek Inquirer. The gas station will expand on FireKeepers' existing customer rewards program. Members can redeem their Red Hot Rewards loyalty points for fuel.
“Because we draw visitors from across the region, providing our guests with the opportunity to convert loyalty rewards into fuel discounts further enhances our commitment to the members of our Red Hot Rewards club”, said Brian D. Decorah, CEO and President of FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
“We carefully master plan the land for this great resort and seek to be proactive leaders in design and development,” said Jamie Stuck, tribal council vice chairman of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi. “Design work is complete and construction equipment will be onsite and active later this month.”
The re-opening of Cafe 24/7 follows recently announced dining awards in the “Best Of Dining” category from Casino Player Magazine. These include, “Best Overall Dinning”, “Best Seafood”, “Best Steakhouse”, “Best Happy Hour”, “Best Buffet” and “Best Deli”. Cafe 24/7 is sure to live up to the awards with their new plates and FireKeepers looks forward to obtaining more Dining Best’s.
“Café 24/7 has been one of our guest’s favorite restaurants since opening in 2009,” states Vice President of Food and Beverage, Michael McFarlen. “The transformation of the space and menu to an exciting new presentation will further energize our guests and keep them coming back to Café 24/7.”
In coming months, Dacey’s Sports Bar will be demolished and plans are in progress for a new, vibrant and contemporary bar in an adjacent location. The tribe plans to release information on that project in the near future.
