Delaware Nation Member Chosen as Haskell Student of the Year


Cherica Eckiwaudah, a member of the Delaware Nation in Anadarko, Oklahoma, has been chosen as Haskell Indian Nation University’s Student of the Year by the American Indian College Fund.

Eckiwaudah is a junior majoring in Business Management. In addition to excelling in academics, she is the founder of Haskell’s Gamma Delta Pi sorority, captain of the women’s cross-country team, and she has also participated in a number of community service efforts including Toys for Tots.

“Ms. Eckiwaudah is an example of the incredible determination and resiliency that exists within our tribal communities,” Haskell President Dr. Venida Chenault said in a press release.
