National Center President and CEO Gary Davis is taking Indian country's economic agenda to international audiences in Hannover, Germany. Davis is a part of the U.S. Delegation to Hannover Messe, the World’s largest industrial trade fair, taking place from April 25-29. The delegation is being led by President Obama and Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker. This is the first year the U.S. is a partner country for the fair.

"It is a tremendous honor to represent Indian country in two very important economic development forums," said Davis."Whether it’s at home or abroad, Native Americans are engaged in industries essential to the global economy. I look forward to sharing Indian Country’s great story and progress – as well as its tremendous potential – to fellow Americans as well as the international community."

Over 5,000 companies will exhibit at the show, with over 400 from the U.S. Companies from key trading partners such as Australia, Canada, China, Brazil, India, Mexico, and the United Kingdom will also be exhibiting.

"Like the United States, Indian country is indeed open for business and the opportunities are limitless," said Davis.

The National Center will be a part of the MBDA delegation, with the goal of demonstrating the unique benefits of doing business in Indian country. A factor in the National Center’s selection is its Native American Global Trade Center, which facilitates the development of a variety of global relationships to grow tribal economies.

MBDA National Director Alejandra Y. Castillo will lead a delegation of minority business owners and stakeholders to demonstrate not only the value of minority business enterprises’ (MBEs) products and services, but also opportunities to advance transatlantic trade and access to U.S. markets through collaboration with minority businesses.

"We are honored to have our minority entrepreneurs join us on this historic trip," said MBDA National Director Alejandra Y. Castillo. "This is a significant opportunity for our MBEs to build global partnerships and forge connections to access an even larger audience for their businesses."

MBDA will also lead a U.S.-German a policy roundtable titled Changing Demographics:  Fostering Inclusive Entrepreneurship. With the ethnic, gender, and generational make-up rapidly changing in  many countries around the world, this timely conversation will focus on policies, programs and best practices to confront economic inequalities in immigrant, refugee and migrant populations through entrepreneurship.
