On the first day of SWAIA’s Indian Market some of the best Native designers highlighted their unique fashions during the third annual Indian Market Fashion Show. The show features award-winning and internationally recognized Native designers showcasing both haute couture and ready-to-wear designs.

Pamela Baker (Kwakwaka’wakw/Squamish) moved her two children to Los Angeles, California to study at Otis College of Art and Design where she earned a degree in Fashion Design. That degree has provided her with the technical and business skills needed to focus on designing a future for herself and her children that will also honor her ancestors. Baker, one of the featured designers at SWAIA, created Touch of Culture, where modern technology blends style and traditional values and symbols.
