Founded in 1798, Old Mission San Luis Rey is the largest of all the 21 California missions.

A National Historic Landmark, the mission is home to a community of Franciscan Friars, in Oceanside, Calif. Diego James Robles.

The current iteration of the church, the mission’s third, was built in 1811.
