A January 30 basketball game pitting Lame Deer High School against Northern Cheyenne Tribal High School likely still has Baptiste Harris, 18, hearing “swish” after he made two tremendous plays against Northern Cheyenne.
Harris, who has Down syndrome, is a student at Lame Deer, entered the game in the fourth quarter for the Morning Stars with only a few seconds left. A teammate passed him the ball and he made a two-point field goal, which made the crowd erupt in applause. Seconds later, Harris caught a long pass from the backcourt, and put it up for a long two-pointer at the buzzer.
