The Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian in New York City recently screened “Rebel Music: Native America 7th Generation Rises,” the MTV series that highlights activists from around the globe.
The screening, held November 5 in the Gustav Heye Center featured live performance by Frank Waln, Sicangu Lakota, the well-known Native hip-hop artist featured in the series. There was also a panel discussion with Rebel Music creator and producer Nusrat Durrani, Walk and award-winning journalist Simon Moya-Smith, Oglala Lakota.
