Last week in Washington D.C. water protectors in support of #NoDAPL gathered outside where the White House Tribal Nations conference was being held to voice their thoughts.

One such individual was Vice President of Tribal Council Lloyd Pikok from the Point Lay Village.

According to event organizer Dallas Goldtooth, Pikok “has never spoke in front of a crowd before and was nervous, [but] he did an amazing job.”

The event was well attended by protectors and allies as well as Tribal leaders from several Sioux Nations, including Chairman David Archambault II from Standing Rock, Chairman of the Cheyenne River Harold Frazier, Oglala Sioux Tribal President John Yellow Bird Steele and NCAI President Brian Cladoosby.

Here is the video of Pikok.

Lloyd Pikok is one awesome young leader. When he was going to Ilisagvik College here in Barrow, he came over with his friend to help my nephew put in my flooring. Lloyd also fixed my dishwasher. Not only is he a great young leader, he is always willing to help others. ALAHAA ISUQ!!!
