In 1621, settlers sat with 90 Wampanoag Indians for what many historians incorrectly call the first Thanksgiving. The true Thanksgiving sadly commemorates the massacre of over 400 Pequot men, women and children in 1636 after the Pequot were blamed for a man found murdered in his boat.
