As of March 7, “Clouds of Autumn,” winner of Best Canadian Short Drama at the 2015 imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, can be seen on YouTube.

The story, set on the Tsilhqot’in plateau in the 1970s, tell the story of a young indigenous boy named William and his older sister Shayl. Their childhoods are forever changed when Shayl is forced to attend a residential school.

The film, written and directed by Trevor Mack and Matthew Taylor Blais, stars Elias Louie as William and Trinity Stump at Shayl. Viewers first see the siblings playing, running, and laughing among hay bales. As the film goes on, Shayl begins speaking English, and spends less time playing with her brother.
